Trip to Bengbu

What a day in Bengbu!  We are still battling jet lag, but due to our long relationship with the orphanage, along with highly efficient volunteers, we hit the ground running in order to get the most of our brief visit at Bengbu.  We took the high speed train from Shanghai to Bengbu.  We departed from from the newly built Hongqiao railway station, just built this year, and is an ultramodern high-tech, neat, and clean facility that showcases the prowess of China's dominating and rising economic status.  The train took just over 2 hours, and dropped us off at the very new Bengbu South railway station, which is a new terminal built solely for the express services around the region and country.  I was sad not to arrive in the train station that so many others like myself were accustomed to as the traditional welcome to Bengbu.  But change has overcome Bengbu like so many other places in China.

The train ride was so smooth that it rivaled anything I've ever been on in the USA or Europe.  The train itself was state of the art as well.
